    Housing Information 
    Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) gives active service members two options for housing; living on post or finding a home off-post within the community.

    • Once you have orders to move, contact The Housing Services Office (305) 483-4466. They can answer all of your housing questions and provide services such as referrals, resolving tenant-landlord disputes, and guidance for entering lease agreements.

    NAS Key West On Base Housing

    • The Unaccompanied Housing Office can be reached at (305) 293-4127.
    • NAS Key West on-base homes are privatized and operated by Balfour Beatty Communities (305) 292-5590, which offers single family and townhomes based on rank and family size. Home amenities may include: washer/dryer hookups and fully equipped kitchens. The community amenities include: playgrounds and tot-lots.

    Key West is a small city of 24,650 people and is so named because it is the furthest west "key" or island off of Florida's coast. It is also the southernmost city in the continental United States. This is the closest major city to the air station; there are several islands in these parts of the keys, some are off-limits to civilians, and they are largely uninhabited.

    NAS Key West is located just east of the city on its own island of Boca Chica Key. East of Boca Chica is Stock Island, population 4,400, and the Saddlebunch Keys with only about 100 residents. The major city of Miami, on the mainland, is just over 150 miles northeast of the keys. The communities around NAS Key West are: Key West, Stock Island, Boca Chica Key, and Big Coppitt Key.     About The Installation
    Naval Air Station Key West is home to Fighter Composite Squadron 111, Strike Fighter Squadron 106 and the Joint Interagency Task Force South. Key West operates as a naval air station and military airport and is located near the city of Key West, Florida. The naval station was first established to stop piracy back in the 1800s and now offers support for the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Guard units.
